Meet David

About David

I grew up in a family that is hands on, curious, creative, and always doing something challenging. That mentality never really left me.

These days it shows up in basically every facet of my life, which still includes my hobbies. I’ve always found that making the time for other interests provides important space and perspective for me to bring back to Darilyn Designs. All of our work is original so finding new ideas and inspiration out in the wild is very much part of our process!

I still build PCs and love learning new skills and software. I build and drive crazy RC vehicles, maintain a 75 gallon aquarium with live plants and freshwater fish, go off-roading, and I’m having a nice time training our new rescue dog Shae. These things are great fuel for my primary focus; building the best version of Darilyn Designs possible.

I’ve always been deeply interested in technology so combining this hands on focus with modern machines and software continues to be a great experience. I’m thrilled with the level of detail and control we have during our design and production process and I’m excited to keep building out those skills.

Greta and I are so excited to be building this studio. A friend walking through our house once said our space looks like “things happen” here. She wasn’t wrong, and to this day, it’s one of my favorite compliments. Things do happen here, and I’m looking forward to sharing them with you.

CURRENT FOCUS

Lately I’ve been overhauling our workspace so we actually know where everything lives. That’s almost done and already paying off. I’m also still chasing the right texture on our stickers; the depth we’re getting on the latest batch is some of the best we’ve done.
