About Darilyn & David
Creativity is Contagious
In my professional life, I’m a tech leader focused on solving complex problems and building thoughtful systems. Creativity and imagination are central to that work. I’ve found that making things with my hands helps me think more clearly and solve problems more imaginatively. And when my work sparks new ideas, that energy finds its way back into my crafts. It’s a creative loop that keeps me grounded and growing.
Raised by Makers
I grew up surrounded by artists. My mom and aunts are endlessly talented and my dad was a contractor who brought comfort and warmth into every home he touched. Being raised in a world where creativity was both expressive and practical gave me an early appreciation for the meaning, care, and happiness handmade objects can carry.
David’s family was similar, and he grew up steeped in music, art, and meticulously restored machines. When David and I met, we quickly realized creativity was a value that we both shared. He introduced me to his love of tools and the joy of precision that comes from experience. Together, our skill sets, design sense, and failure tolerance has made us a powerful creative team.
Treasures with a Past
Many of the pieces in this shop are made with reclaimed craft materials rescued from garages, yard sales, estate sales, and the overflowing craft rooms of generous makers everywhere. It started in college, when we couldn’t always afford the materials we wanted new from the store. Over time, we made a tradition of seeking out forgotten fabric, notions, and half-finished projects with untold stories behind them.
That spirit of reuse, reinvention, and honoring what’s already here is woven into everything we make.
Thanks for being here. I hope our handmade moments bring as much joy to your space as they’ve brought to ours.
